- The source publishes no endpoint for how job volume moved historically, so none of this is back-filled. This tool takes its own reading every night and builds the series forward from the day it started. A proxy was tested first, comparing adverts posted in the last 30 days against the last 90, and rejected: across 15 cities it ranged only 0.55 to 0.77 and grouped by country rather than by city, so it measured local reposting convention rather than demand. Each stored reading counts adverts posted in the last seven days, and movement compares the newest reading against the one about a week before it, so two separate weeks are compared rather than two overlapping ones.
- Known limits
- Advertised roles are not all roles, and some employers never advertise. United States figures are metro-wide rather than city limits. Ireland is absent because the source publishes no Irish data. A sector is broad, so it tells you where a discipline sits, not which exact job title is short.
